Remember those days when music programmes were held in the houses of music lovers in Koramangala? And remember the person who was running around to organise it? Many may not, because he always kept a low profile. He is the founder and first President of the Nadasurabhi Sangeeta Sabha, the predecessor of the present Nadasurabhi Cultural Association. A commerce graduate by basic academic qualifications, he specialized in mridangam from his younger days. Passing both junior and senior examinations of Karnataka govt. on Instrumental (Mridangam) Carnatic music, he has been empanelled as a B High grade artist in All India Radio, Bangalore. He has been giving performances both for AIR and Door Darshan for over 25 years now.
A disciple of Vid.T.A.S.Mani, Chandrashekar has accompanied a number of well known artists like T.N.Krishnan, Bombay sisters, Sikkil sisters, Hyderabad sisters, Rajkumar Bharathi etc.
For the past twelve years he has been playing mridangam for classical dance performances also. Here he has accompanied renowned dancers like Vani Ganapathi, Prathiba Prahalad, Padmini Ravi, Kiran Subramanyam, Smt.Narmada, Actor Shdhar, etc.
